hmmmz...emotions are important but when you have nothing but terrible ones like sadness...yeah, sucks.

I keep getting told by my family that I am an unfeeling monster. personally I don't care...I just save my emotions for the ones that care. Like my friends and Nattyz.

As for my mean-li-ness, yes, I am pointlessly cruel to people. But I've explained the cause for that several times. Also, Emo people have tons of emotion. They overreact to everything, it's the reason they cut themselves. The "I {insert thingy here} to feel alive" thing is actually more descriptive of the goths, who pretend not to care about anything. Lloyd technically is an emo. He's a very compassionate person. Lloyd as for the 'unfeeling monster' thing, I wouldn't worry about it too much... From what you've told us, your family would be the ones to do that.

actually, DK is right. emos overreact, they don't just sit in a corner with a blank look...unless its delirium from blood loss from cutting themselves. but that rarely happens.
